Conor Yang Joins Tuniu as CFO
January 10, 2013 – Tuniu announced today that Mr. Conor Yang has joined the company as CFO. Tuniu was founded in October 2006, and provides booking and tour package services to Chinese travelers. The company currently has 14 departure cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Shenzhen. Since its establishment, Tuniu has focused on its mission of “Making Travel Easy” for Chinese consumers, and has served over 2 million travelers to date.
With over 20 years of experience in the capital markets, Mr. Yang has significant expertise financial management, strategy, and investor relations. Prior to Tuniu, Mr. Yang accumulated 12 years of experience as CFO of AirMedia Group (NASDAQ: AMCN) and Dangdang.com (NYSE: DANG). He led the IPO initiatives of these companies in 2007 and 2010 respectively.
Mr. Yang received his MBA from UCLA in 1992, after which he spent seven years as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley Asia, Lehman Brothers Asia, and Goldman Sachs Asia. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Yang was CFO in Asia Pacific of CellStar Asia Corporation, and from 2004 to 2007 was COO of Rock Mobile Corporation. In 2006, Mr. Yang joined AirMedia Group to support its IPO listing, and from 2010 to July 2012, became CFO of Dangdang.com. Since January 2010, Mr. Yang has been an independent director of Century 21 China (NYSE: CTC). Mr. Yang was also an independent director of Tudou.com until it was acquired by Youku in August 2012.
